David E. Jaramillo
Dr. David E. Jaramillo is Associate Professor of Endodontics at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston in the U.S. Jaramillo was in endodontic private practice from 1990 to 2004 and started doing faculty practice in 2004 at the Oral Health Center, Loma Linda Faculty of Endodontics and Loma Linda School of Dentistry. Jaramillo is a former clinical assistant professor of endodontics at the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles. He was an associate professor of endodontics at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry, where he served as clinic director of endodontics and endodontic course director for the International Dentist Program, and an associate researcher at the Center for Dental Research.
Jaramillo actively participated in research at the Center for Biofilms under the direct supervision of Dr. William Costerton at USC School of Dentistry. Jaramillo learned the use of scanning electron microscopy and laser scanning microscopy and improved his knowledge in histological sectioning techniques. He is currently an active collaborator with the Ming Hshieh Department of Electrical Engineering at USC Viterbi School of Engineering, with which Jaramillo has published several scientific papers and one book chapter.
Jaramillo has authored and co-authored over 20 peer-reviewed, published articles, and seven book chapters. Jaramillo has spoken at endodontic meetings for the American Association of Endodontics, the European Society of Endodontics, the International Federation of Endodontic Association (Tokyo, Japan), Mexican Association of Endodontics, Costa Rican Dental Association, Ecuatorian (Pichincha) Association of Endodontics, Dominican Republican Association of Endodontics, and the Asociacion Asociación Española de Endodoncia (Madrid, Spain), Argentinean, Uruguayan, Peruvian Association of Endodontics.
