Endo-restorative symbiosis: Endorestodontics
In this webinar, the presenter will discuss the concept of “endorestodontics,” which refers to symbiosis between two dental procedures—endodontic and restorative treatment—that is beneficial to both.
A badly worn tooth or damage deep within a tooth often makes it impossible to retain the rubber dam for endodontic treatment. From both a practical and a functional perspective, building up the affected tooth prior to endodontic treatment ensures better isolation during treatment, as well as easier and faster final buildup.
Pre-endodontic buildup and margin elevation, as well as the design of the final post-endodontic restoration, are important steps that may enhance the endo-restorative outcome in the long term. These procedures provide a better coronal seal and improved comfort for the patient during and after treatment, as well as ease of work for the dentist.
