Participants can obtain their name badges and registration packages at the registration desk at the ESMT. All participants are requested to wear their badges throughout the congress. Only badge holders will be admitted to the sessions, hands-on courses and exhibition.
Participants may pick up their badges and packages on the following days and at the following times:
- June 28 (7.30 a.m.–10 a.m.)
- June 29 (7.30 a.m.–10 a.m.)
In Germany, the weekend consists of Saturday and Sunday. Shops are usually open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS
Credits are awarded based on the total number of hours attended, excluding any corporate presentations, breaks, meals and registration periods. For attendance of the ROOTS SUMMIT program and the pre-congress hands-on courses.
CERTIFICATES OF ATTENDANCE
Certificates of attendance will be provided to all participants. The certificates will be sent out by email after the congress.
Berlin has a very moderate climate. As the weather is usually pleasant and sunny then, June, July and August are the most popular months to visit the city. The average temperature at the end of June and the beginning of July is 23 °C (73 °F). However, the summer months are also unpredictable, and the weather can rapidly change from sunny to cloudy. It can also be fairly humid in summer in Berlin.
The official language of the 2018 ROOTS SUMMIT is English.
International credit cards, such as MasterCard and Visa, are accepted for payments in most hotels, restaurants and shops in Berlin.
The currency in Berlin is the euro, €.
Morning and afternoon coffee, as well as a lunch buffet, will be served. In addition, there are several restaurants in the vicinity of the meeting venue.
Participants will have the opportunity to register for the event and additional hands-on courses on-site. Only payment with MasterCard, Visa, American Express or cash will be accepted.
By attending the ROOTS SUMMIT, participants consent to being filmed or photographed. The images and videos taken during the event may be used as part of future marketing campaigns and be archived on the websites of the ROOTS SUMMIT, Dental Tribune International and the Dental Tribune Study Club, or open-access social networking services, such as Facebook and Twitter.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT AND CAR RENTAL
Berlin’s transport authority (Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe; BVG) manages an advanced transport network, which consists of a metro, trams and buses. For trip planning and general information, participants can visit its website
For participants who would prefer to rent a car for the duration of their stay, car rental is offered at both the Berlin Tegel Airport and the Berlin Schönefeld Airport.
Smoking is banned in public offices and places, such as public buildings, all forms of public transport (including taxis) and shopping malls. However, there are designated smoking areas all over the city, including designated restaurants and bars.
During the congress period, Berlin will be following Central European Summer Time (UTC+2). This time is observed from the last Sunday in March to the last Sunday in October.
EU nationals do not require a visa to enter the Federal Republic of Germany. All other foreigners require a visa for stays in the country. A visa is not required for visits of up to 90 days in a 180 day period for nationals of those countries for which the EU has abolished the visa requirement.
